what is it?

The KiHa 100 and 110 series (Japanese: キハ100・110系) are diesel multiple unit (DMU) railcars operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) since 1990, primarily on non-electrified rural lines in Japan. The "KiHa" designation derives from the classification system used by Japanese National Railways (JNR) for diesel railcars. "Ki" indicates a diesel-powered vehicle, while "Ha" indicates an ordinary passenger car, as opposed to a green car.
