Wild poliovirus type 1 is still endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan; GPEI/WHO counted 48 WPV1 cases in 2026 as of mid-October (42 Afghanistan, 6 Pakistan). Reach every missed child with vaccination so polio can be declared eradicated.
