Korean has two number systems. Sino-Korean (from Chinese) is used for: money, dates, phone numbers, minutes, floors, addresses, and anything above 99.

Bigger numbers are built like a calculator: 이십삼 = 2×10+3 = 23. 백 100, 천 1,000, 만 10,000. No 일 before 십, 백, 천, 만: 110 = 백십, 10,000 = 만.
만 trips up learners: 50,000 won is 오만 원 (5 × 10,000), 1,000,000 is 백만.
Zero is 영 or, in phone numbers, 공: 010-1234-5678 = 공일공 일이삼사 오육칠팔.
Dates: 년 (year), 월 (month), 일 (day): 2026년 3월 1일 = 이천이십육 년 삼월 일 일. June = 유월, October = 시월.
